I’ve decided it’s time to get back to blogging my eclectic mix of book quotes, thoughts on politics, education, and culture, along with tidbits from my daily life. And yeah, there will be a “War Eagle!” here and there, too. I’ll keep my private blog for sharing the stuff that shouldn’t be aired in public, but this will be my main place for hanging out and writing about what’s on my mind. I hope you’ll join in so that it will be a conversation.
The layout is still a work-in-progress, as is my blogroll and other links.

To kick things off, I’d like to give away a copy of a book I read this past year. Tim Keller’s The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness is a short little book that’s overflowing with good stuff. I read it on my Kindle a few months ago, but I’m going to go through a dead-tree copy with my trusty mechanical pencil in hand, reading it more slowly this time. I have an extra copy to pass along to one of you. Just leave a comment here for a chance to win. I’ll draw a winner next weekend. The giveaway closes on Friday at 10:00 pm Eastern time.
