~ The day began with being lazy. And having cup after cup of my favorite breakfast tea.
~ I worked on a chunk of the Esther Bible study I’m doing with friends. We were led to Deuteronomy 23:5, and it is so very true in my life that I can’t help but rejoice:
“…instead the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD our God loved you.”
This has become a theme that I’m coming across again and again in my reading these days.
~ Joy. I feel joy. Not fleeting happiness because of a good mood or a sunny day, but genuine, deep-in-my-bones joy.
~ At 10 a.m. I was still in my pajamas!
~ Did some laundry.
~ Talked with a friend via FaceTime, catching up and making plans.
~ Wandered around downtown Thomasville with my sister and my niece. Checked out the roses (pictures to follow later) and Art in the Park. Had a pool room hot dog. Did some browsing in shops I usually don’t have time to visit.
~ Had my birthday celebration with my family at a favorite restaurant in my hometown and then opened presents and had the best chocolate cake in the world.
~ A good day. But I missed my kids. And I’m stuffed.
