Today is my daddy’s birthday. If you don’t already know him, I sure wish you could. Like my mom, he’s always been there for me. I was his “road buddy” growing up, and I always loved — and still love — to spend time with him. We can talk about all kinds of subjects — Auburn football, politics, theology, and photography, to name a few — and he makes me feel like I can do anything.
He’s a people person. He loves people, and people love him. In fact, a friend who has never met him recently told me he’s “like a rock star” among the ladies in her Bible study because of some kindnesses he’s shown to one of them who is suffering.
He points me to Jesus, always reminding me that my Lord never sleeps and that nothing catches Him by surprise.
I’m always proud to say whose daughter I am.
I’m so very thankful for him and that I get to see him often these days. God has been good to me.
Happy Birthday, Dad!
