As you regular readers know, I’ve been working my way through The Valley of Vision, mining the gems from those old Puritan prayers, never failing to find them. This morning, as I read the prayer called “Repose”, these lines are my heart’s prayer:
Keep my wishes from growing into willings,
my willings from becoming fault-finding
with thy providences,
and have mercy on me.
Amen and amen and amen.
