thursday

I’m off work today, with a to-do list a mile long in preparation for going to my son’s graduation this weekend and for his wedding next weekend. I think I’ll write at the top of my list: “Enjoy!” It’s so easy for this task-oriented list checker to get caught up in doing and forget the point of all of this.

I’m so proud of my son for finishing school, and for finishing well. Over the years, I’ve poured my heart, sweat, and tears into his education, and somehow — in spite of me! — God has seen him through. I’m overwhelmed at God’s grace.

And I’m so happy that Will has found his Anna. She’s just right for him, and that was evident very early on in their relationship. She fits right into our family, and I really love her family. God is good!

So I’m off to tackle my list, with joy and gratitude in my heart.
