shutting it down

I’ve been thinking about it for a while now, and I’ve decided it’s time to close down the blog. I simply don’t have the time to do a decent job of updating it, and it’s become just another thing I feel guilty about not doing well.

I started blogging many years ago — it seems like a lifetime ago — and it was an online journal of sorts. I took it down when my life took a drastic turn, and I blogged privately for a time. Eventually I started blogging here.  It’s been a fun run, and I’ve “met” some great folks. Composing blog posts when I’m driving or in the shower will probably remain a habit for a long time.

This domain expires next month, so I’m not sure if it will all go *poof* when I don’t renew.  I’m still posting photos on Instagram, so if you’re interested, you can follow me there.

So aloha and bye y’all!

  1. I’m sorry to hear this, but I sure understand. I rarely get to update mine either, though I fully intend to! As busy as I was during those homeschooling years, I seem to stay busier now than then…….and we are RETIRED!! I hope you’ll still share your books and reading via Facebook; I’ve found lots of good stuff through you!

  2. Oh, this is a shame, as I have enjoyed it and valued it a lot, but I thoroughly understand. (I don’t even think my life has changed that much, but I don’t seem to have the time I once did either – and feel that same angst over not doing blogging well anymore.) Hope you enjoy directing your energy into other pursuits and I shall keep an eye out on instagram!

  3. I totally understand. I haven’t kept up with mine either and it expires next month, too. I keep thinking I’ll get back to updating but it never seems to happen. I’ll continue to follow you on Instagram!

  4. So thankful to God to have bumped into you even at a late stage and to have enjoyed your writing, wisdom and gentle kindness. And glad there are other means of staying in touch in a small way.

  5. Dear Anne, Although we never met and it’s unlikely that you would even recognize my name, I do want to say thank you and goodbye. I started reading your blog way back when you were in Hawaii- and have followed you via my blog feed ever since. Your thoughts have been good food for me. I pray all grace and peace for you and yours as you continue to journey through life. Much joy and many blessings, kristy
